Vian Foundation Trust (also known as Save the Children) is a leading advocate for child protection in India. We work to prevent and respond to child trafficking, child marriage, child labour, sexual abuse, and online exploitation by building strong community-led protection systems and empowering children to safeguard themselves. With a proven track record, we support effective implementation of key legislation, including the POCSO Act (2012), Juvenile Justice Act, Child Labour Act, and Prohibition of Child Marriage Act (2006), ensuring vulnerable children are protected and their rights upheld.

Work with partners and key stakeholders to end discrimination, violence, and abuse, and promote inclusive, gender-equal, positive parenting.
Promote the psycho-social and mental health of children and families, enabling support systems in trauma, exclusion, and disaster contexts.
Engage with business houses, hold accountable, and promote mechanisms to prevent, respond to, and rehabilitate children engaged in harmful labour.

Vian Foundation Trust ’s core areas of work under Child Protection in India include interventions around Children in Street Situations, Community-led Child Protection System Strengthening, workforce development through a competency-based training at the local and sub-national levels, ending abuse and exploitation of children, promoting gender equality, child protection in emergencies, promoting psychosocial well-being through mental health and psychosocial support, online safety of children, and capacity building of stakeholders and promoting child-friendly guidelines for protection of children from all forms of abuse and exploitation.
